Frequently Asked Questions

Are Curb Chains and Cuban Chains the same?

As one of the most recognised pattern of chain link the Curb chain is widely recognised and to the untrained eye, Curb chains and Cuban chains appear to be the same. So where's the connection? It's true both chain styles are similar in their formation: Crafted using one single link shape and repeatedly paired with the same identical link to form the chain. Each individual link also in it's shape is twisted in the same way that allows another to snugly fit when paired with another. Both won't catch your hairs and are utterly comfortable to wear and practical for everyday too!

Key differences:

  • Link Space
With a Curb Chain the space in the centre of the link is far wider. You know, that space where when you wear on top of a t-shirt, you can see the colour of your t-shirt between the links?
On the other hand, the Cuban Chain links are much closer together.

  • Bulkier Links
As well as Cuban Links being tightly packed together than Curb Links, the wire that twists into the Cuban Link shape is much thicker, giving it a bulkier look at the side profile.
Cuban Chain Links are also much more rounded in their contours and often less 'edgy'.

  • Heavier.
When comparing a 7mm Curb link chain vs a 7mm Cuban link chain, a Cuban chain will traditionally have much more weight.
This is because whilst the width of the chain may be the same, the depth of the link has more height.
